【7/22】通常授業スタート！

 本日生徒たちはバディと対面し、本格的にHillcrest Christian College での生活がスタートしました！

最初は、Opening Ceremony で配られたワークシートをもとにバディとスクールツアーを行いいました。慣れない英語でのコミュニケーションに戸惑う生徒もちらほらいましたが、何とか全員ツアーを完走できていました！

完走できた生徒たちから、2週間のスケジュール表を受け取って、それぞれの教室に移動します。

生徒に配布されたスケジュール表はこんな感じです。

8:20-10:20 Classroom Integration

Classroom Integration(バディと同じ授業を受ける)をはじめて行いました。

引率教員は学校案内を受けており直接様子は見ていませんが、
初対面のバディとのコミュニケーションに苦戦しつつも、生徒たちは出された指示に従い、懸命に授業に食らいついていたとのことです！

10:20-11:00 Break with Buddies 

授業と授業の間に40分の休憩があり、生徒たちはその時間に軽食や紅茶を楽しんだり、野外で運動をしたりして時間を過ごしています。広学生は彼らに混じってホストファミリーに作ってもらったご飯を食べたり、バディーの友達の輪に入れてもらってお話を楽しみながら時間を過ごしていました！

11:10-13:00　(A)Sport Activity / (B)English Language

(A) あいにくの雨により、屋外で行うはずであったアクティビティが体育館で行われました。競技はフラフープじゃんけん→勝ち残りボールパスでした。特に後半の勝ち残りボールパスは、自分の陣地でボールをワンバウンドさせてはいけないというゲームで、とても盛り上がりました。

競技中に現地の生徒が参戦してくれて場を盛り上げてくれました！

(B) 厳しくも情熱のあるESL(English as a Second Language)の先生が講師として英語の授業を担当してくださいます。本日は挨拶時の握手に関する注意や、Gidday(Hello, Hiなどの代わりに使うオーストラリア英語)などを学んでいました！

これらの授業の最中、全校生徒で避難訓練を実施されました。先生の指示に従い迅速行動できており、先生方にお褒めの言葉をいただきました！

13:00-13:40　Lunch with Buddies

持参していたLunchを11時に食べ終わっていた生徒が多かったので、ボールなどを使って遊ぶ生徒たちが多かったです！

13:40-15:00　(A)Classroom Integration / (B) Sport Activity

(A) 再度チャレンジングなレギュラー授業への参加です。バディーに連れられながら、異国の授業についていく不安を抱えて各教室に向かっていきました。

(B) Aグループが11時にやったアクティビティを、外で行いました。こちらにも現地の生徒が参戦し、大きな盛り上がりを見せました！

本日の生徒たちの感想です！

Today, I met my buddy and talked. We learned a lot about each other. She is so kind and she has similar hobbies to me. I met her friends too and took the French class together. When I took an English class with only Hiroogakuen students, we did an evacuation drill. It was a little different from Japan's. I am looking forward to teaching some traditional Japanese culture. It was a good day. The host family is very friendly and very kind. Lunch is very delicious and a lot of dinner. There are a lot of animals in Australia and I taught them. I want to make many friends in this school.

Today, I met my buddy for the first time. I gave her some Japanese snacks, so she was very happy. Also, I walked around in the school with my buddy. She talked about her school, it was very cool. Next, I played volleyball with my buddy and my buddy’s friends. I had a very good time. After that, I played “Nine-square ” in P.E. class. Also, we conducted evacuation drills during P.E. class. We got together in the courtyard for safety. Next, I ate lunch with my buddy and took a math class. It was a very fulfilling day. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.

Today I had a wonderful day, because we started school life in Australia.

At school, we had a welcome ceremony. And met buddy. my buddy is kind and friendly. I take a class with my buddy. It was so difficult to understand. Also we had an English activity. At the English activity, we learn "Gidday". It means "hi" in Australia. In the English activity, we met Konan middle school students. I was surprised at Japanese people from different school in the same classroom.  After the English activity, we had a sport activity. we had nine-square volleyball. It was so fun. 

I hope I'll have a good school life in Australia.
