【7/23】オーストラリア独自の文化や言葉に触れました。

 本日のメインイベントは、オーストラリア文化の一つであるブーメランのペインティング、現地授業への参加、オーストラリア英語学習の3つを行いました。

まずは、Australian Art Activity の授業で行ったブーメランペインティング！
生徒たちはブーメランの模様を自由に考え、絵の具を使ってペイントしました。完成したマイブーメランは生徒たちの貴重なお土産となりました！

みんなとても上手にかけていました！
ペインティングの後は、片付けまでしっかりとできていました。素晴らしい！

次は、昨日に引き続き現地授業への参加です！
まだまだ慣れないことも多いですが、バディーとのコミュニケーションにも慣れ、どんどんクラス内での会話が増えてきています！英語を話すことがどんどん身近になってきましたね。

体育に前のめりになって参加したり

バディと協力して料理(今回はシナモンロール)を作ってみたり

理科で物体の性質（固体・液体・気体の性質）について学習したり

架空のスポーツチームを作って、その宣伝ポスター(advertisement)を作ってみたり

様々な興味深い体験をすることができました！
なにより生徒が英語を話そうと一生懸命になる姿は、英語教員の心を打ちました(泣)

最後に、English Language の授業です。今日は生徒全員でこれまでのステイ
を振り返った感想を英語で発表しあい、そのあとオーストラリアで独自に使われている英語を学びました！
例えば、Geeday(Helloの意)、mate(friend)、Maccas(McDonald's)、Servo(Petrol Station)など多くの知らない単語を学習し、それらを使う練習まで行いました！

以下、生徒たちの感想です！

Today, I painted a boomerang during my art lesson. I drew Australia’s flag, koalas, a kangaroo, and the ocean. I couldn’t draw very well because we only had large paintbrushes. After that, we played a game where one person read sentences and the others had to guess if they were fake or real. I struggled to understand what the person was saying, but it was interesting. At lunchtime, my friend and I bought a muffin after we finished eating. It was very sweet and delicious! Next, I attended an English lesson. I learned how to pronounce some words and about Australian contractions. It was difficult for me, but I want to master it! I’m looking forward to visiting a university tomorrow! (女子：R. M.)

Today was my third day at Hillcrest Christian College.

I brought the lunch my host father made for me and went to school by car.

I wished I had car rides to school in Japan too.

I joined English lessons, regular classes, and activities again today.

My Buddies were very kind and taught me everything gently, which made me happy.

Today's art activity was tough. We didn't have enough time to work on coloring the boomerangs, so we ended up drawing patterns on them and painting them.

I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's visit to Bond University!

Today in school, we learned about the heart and what is in the blood during science class. After that, we painted boomerangs. I drew a kangaroo and wrote Gold Coast and Australia. We also learned about local languages in Australia. I was surprised that “arvo” means “afternoon.” 

There are many rich people here, and it’s a little scary for me. But I want to do my best for the next one and a half weeks.

明日はBond Universityに見学に参ります。日本の大学と海外の大学はどのように違うのか、肌で感じるいい機会ですね。
その後、近くの大きなショッピングモールでランチもかねたショッピングをして学校に戻り、解散です。
